Intro (?)
I've always hated introducing myself. I never know what to write. Do I just give my name and how old I am? or do I give an extensive backstory of my life? Am I writing too much? Too little?
But here I am- introducing myself. If you guys don't know already, my name is Salma. The way its spelled automatically sets up anyone who tries to say my name to butcher it. Honestly, I think my name should be spelled Sellmaa, because that is correct way to say it. I've had people call me Selma, pronounced the way you say the city in Alabama, and Saulma, which is just absolutely atrocious, so in the end the best one is Salma.
Basically the inspiration for my blog was from Liza Koshy. Liza Koshy is a famous Youtuber who posts comedy skits. Anyway, I'm like one of her biggest fans, so when I was trying to come up for an idea for my blog, I ended up remembering one of her videos. In this video, she was in the shower "drunk", and while she was showering, she had all of these mind-blowing thoughts, like "Orange is the only color you can taste." or "If people are legally blind, are people with glasses illegally blind?". So, I really liked how she was able to openly talk about what she was thinking and I wanted to do something like that for my blog. For me, I tend to think about the weirdest things when I need to get something done, but I don't feel like doing it, so I decided to make the title of my blog "Random Thoughts when you Procrastinate". Hopefully you guys will find my thoughts as intriguing as Liza's were to me and be able to tell how frequently I procrastinate. :)

I thought this was a really interesting way to start of your blog, and I really liked it. I think that the most interesting part about this essay is when you talked about people butchering your name and that is because it happens to so many people. I love you voice and am excited to read more from you!
ReplyDeleteLove the honesty about how you procrastinate. I honestly never used to procrastinate and then I came to Uni and started a little. I think about weird stuff to sometimes too; like when somebody says, "heads up," why do all the heads go down?
ReplyDeleteFirst of all I also love Liza Koshy she's hilarious but I also love the concept for your blog!! I think everyone has weird, random thoughts from time to time but often we put them aside as being unimportant or dumb. I love that you're going to actually take the time to explore some of those thoughts in this blog and I can't wait to see what you write.

I can relate to the random thoughts (especially when I need to get something done) and I am looking forward to reading more posts from you.

I cannot wait for more blogposts because I think Liza Koshy is a genius and I'm really excited to see how you use her as inspiration. Also her ex-bf David Dobrik is probs one of the funniest youtubers out there.
